We engineer test automation.
A global SDET practice - part of the NomadX quality engineering family.
sdet.qa is a global test automation engineering practice. We work with product and platform teams that have outgrown manual QA and want testing built the way the rest of their software is built: in code, in version control, and wired into the pipeline.
What an SDET actually does
An SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) is a software engineer whose product is quality. Instead of writing test cases by hand, an SDET builds the frameworks, tooling, and CI infrastructure that let an entire team test continuously. The output is not a spreadsheet of test runs. It is a maintainable codebase your developers trust, extend, and own.
That distinction is the whole point of this practice. When we finish an engagement, you do not have a dependency on us. You have a test automation framework your team understands top to bottom, running on every pull request.
Three ways we work
We built sdet.qa around three connected pillars:
- Services for companies. We build and modernize test automation frameworks, stand up fast CI/CD test infrastructure, and embed senior SDETs directly in your sprints. This is the core of what we do.
- Courses and subscriptions for engineers. We teach the craft through structured, hands-on learning paths - from aspiring SDET to framework architect. Real code, real pipelines, no filler.
- Open-source tools. We build and maintain free tooling for the testing community, from flaky-test detection to test-data generation, because the best way to prove an engineering practice is to ship engineering.
Engineering-first, globally remote
We work with teams across the US, UK, Europe, and beyond, with follow-the-sun coverage that keeps pipelines green around the clock. And we are part of the broader NomadX quality engineering family, so when a project needs load testing, performance profiling, AI/ML model QA, or managed QA teams, those specialist practices are one introduction away.
